George,
I just thought I would send
you a quick note to tell you how thrilled I was to receive one
of your knives. My son in law, Al Ohlin, came down to Prince
George in November to hunt mule deer. When he arrived he gave
me a beautiful Bandit knife that he had made for me by you.
(See attached picture). He
also had a knife made for him with the same type of handle and
a slightly different blade.
My previous hunting knife is a 3 long blade drop point
made by Hans Leber from Hudson hope B.C. It is a wonderful knife
that I have used for several years but I needed a knife that
had a little longer blade with a longer usable surface area.
This knife (Bandit Blade) fits the bill perfectly. While it
is a beautiful, hand crafted work of art it is also a knife
that I will use often on my hunting and camping trips. While
on the November deer hunt I was able to use it to gut and skin
two deer and it is still as surgical sharp as when I got it.
I will use this knife with pride for the remainder of my hunting
years (hopefully many) and pass it on to my grand daughter or
grandson when I am no longer here.
Thank-you again for your skilled craftsmanship and attention
to detail that make this wonderful gift from my son in law already
a treasured family heirloom.

I have known George Roberts several
years and would highly recommend his knives to the collector of
fine heirlooms, both avid and novas sports person, and the professional
that would benefit a precise cutting utensil custom fitted to the
individual and the application... I have used Georges knives
in several of these capacities being a papered butcher both wholesale
and retail, avid cook, and a very serious hunter and fisherman.
His attitude when fitting you with a knife is as meticulous in detail
as the actual knife no matter what caliber.
To date I have used and collected Georges knives for approximately
18 years and can attest to the fact that the friendship is as valuable
as his knives, rock solid dependable and precious. You must meet
George to really appreciate what he has to offer, it may take sometime
to decide for the options are as vast as the imagination dare take
you. I will guarantee the experience will be like no other, I am
willing stake my reputation behind this man and what he has to offer.
Sincerely:

Dear George,
Thank you so much for the beautiful cane. I love it! You are
such a talented artist. I'm very glad to have met you in Inuvik
this summer. I had an amazing adventure travelling through the
north this summer on my motorcycle. I wouldn't change anything
that happened, even my accident - an injury to my knee. I believe
everything happens for a reason. My injury has given me time to
reflect and see many things in a new perspective.
I'm very honored and grateful for the process involved in
finding the right piece of wood for this cane and how it tied
in with your traditional ways and boat building ceremony.
Please find enclosed some more silver coins and an assortment
of stones which I hope you'll like. I got these stones during
my trip to India in 2007.
Take care my friend. Thanks again, best regards.
Ben Fischer.
